Here at the Blue Olive, we offer an authentic cuisine in harmony and rhythm with modern times. We seek out the freshest ingredients, organic and local when available. We offer a large variety of vegan meals. We serve only non-medicated, hormone free fresh and local halal meats coming from the beautiful valley of Memramcook. Original recipes and ingredients have been passed down through several generations, and sincerely nurtured. Many recipes have evolved through time and travel, into a beautiful balance of traditional and contemporary cuisine. The spirit of discovering and sharing runs deep at the Blue Olive and this is had been well integrated on our menu.

Our History
Arrived at a very young age in Moncton in order to continue his university studies at the University of Moncton. Mohamed Ali Mhalla discovered that we could not get the ingredients necessary to prepare the dishes of native Tunisia. His answer? The opening in 2008 of the Blue Olive market and restaurant in Dieppe which quickly turned into one of the best restaurants in the region.
Since then, this young entrepreneur with his engineering degree and his master’s degree in business administration and with the help of his wife Nathalie Beaudin and a team made up of professional and dedicated men and women, persevered in the competitive market of restoration and success has been recognized by several recent distinctions and by the opening in 2016 of a new location: Blue Olive “The Thousand and One Nights” this time in downtown Moncton. A magical place that offers its visitors to travel in the world of the Arabian Nights and discover the richness and finesse of the Arab-Muslim culture.
As soon as you walk in the doorway of the Blue Olive, delicious exotic scents take people on a gastronomic adventure towards the Mediterranean by the flavours of delicious meals from Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Greece.
Married and father of two children, a boy and a girl, his family and professional commitments did not prevent him from involving in the community as a young leader and visionary through several actions and positions taken in order to promote cultural diversity, the integration of immigrants and inter-community rapprochement. We can especially name the Greater Moncton Economic and Social Development Initiative for Syrian Women (SWESDI) which supports the integration of Syrian women into our Community through the realization of economic and social projects and activities in order to develop their autonomy. and their entrepreneurial spirit.
The entrepreneurial spirit and leadership of Mohamed Ali did not go unnoticed, who notably received the Greater Moncton Excellence Award in 2013, the Expansion Dieppe Emerging Company Award in 2014, the Prix d ‘EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Hospitality and Tourism category and most recently the Paul Harris Prize from the Rotary Club International in 2017.
